The invention should be functional and provide a specific benefit or solution to a problem. <h3>Example 1:</h3> A new machine that automates the process of sorting and packaging products in a warehouse can be considered to have utility because it serves a practical purpose and can be employed in an industrial setting to improve efficiency. <h3>Example 2:</h3> A new method for recycling electronic waste that effectively separates valuable metals from other components, allowing for better resource recovery and reduced environmental impact, can be considered to have utility because it addresses a real-world problem and can be applied in the recycling industry. <h3>Example 3:</h3> A new biodegradable material that can replace single-use plastics in food packaging, and decomposes in a significantly shorter time compared to traditional plastics, can be considered to have utility because it addresses an environmental issue and can be used in the packaging industry.
